Work Description:

TM Advertising is looking for independent contractors interested in installing and removing the billboard advertising copy on its billboard structures.  Other job tasks can include the maintenance of the structures, minor electrical parts replacement and vegetation maintenance around the structures.

 

Primary Tasks:

  • Climb to top of billboard structure and from the interior of the sign, loosen the ratchet straps, clamp existing vinyl to the structure face, remove gripper rods (fiberglass pvc pipe) from the pockets in the vinyl and safely lower current advertising vinyl to the ground. Begin installing new advertising vinyl by draping vinyl over the top, re-inserting gripper rods into vinyl pockets and secure to the face using existing ratchet straps, removing wrinkles as the vinyl is installed.  Vinyl removal and installation typically takes two people, 30 minutes to 1 hour depending upon the structure conditions and size and experience level.

 

Secondary Tasks:

  • Possible structure and vegetation maintenance and painting of the structures and trim, trimming trees, and cutting grass.
  • Possible light bulb replacement.
  • Possible fabrication and installation of wood extension for advertisement.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:

  • Ability to climb heights and work safely above ground
  • General knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT), and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety regulations, specifically related to heights and electrical
  • Ability to safely use power tools related to construction and vegetation removal.
  • Some knowledge and experience in general construction, steel construction or tree management.
  • Must have basic computer skills and smart phones for work orders and proof of performance photos
  • A history of performing such duties in a safe and professional manner

 

Contractor Equipment and Requirements

  • General Liability Insurance of $1 Million.
  • All equipment necessary to complete work in a safe, professional manner, including but not limited to vehicles, tools, ladders, safety equipment
